Lebanon is a small country bordering the Mediterranean Sea in the very west of Asia. It shares boarders with Syria and Israel. Its capital, Beirut, was destroyed by civil war, which raged between 1971 and 1992. The Lebanese people are determined to restore this seaside capital to its former beauty and elegance. Smart suburbs have been built around the inner city while work continues on its reconstruction.
